FIRES

The area in which I live is blanketed in thick smoke.
The temp. is 34C
There is a layer of fine ash over everything outside.
While not under direct threat from the main fires,
we must be cautious about burning debris being blown our way.
A change in winds around midnight may make it more pleasant here.
Looks like a long night of watching and waiting.
Spare a thought for little townships in the path of the flames,
and the animals trying to outrun it all.
