As Christmases go it was the coldest
we have ever had.
Did we mind?
NO!
It also rained.
Did we mind?
No!
The dust and ash have settled
and we breathe a sigh of relief.
The fires are not out but contained.
The drought is not broken !
Unseasonal weather
has made us rejoice
and reminded us of the quick turnabout that
Nature
can make.
Thank you friends for your comments of support
and
encouragement.
This has truly been a Christmas of thankfulness.

How draining it must be. I have had similar experience in past summers. Not knowing how long the waiting will last is by far the worst part.I read that the fires could start up again at any time.
I will blog something to stir up the soul of every true aussie as we all at some time make a stand against the elemets.
Me again! My last word should have read
elements
I can hear the sigh of relief. Hope all goes well for you.
WHEW! SUCH A RELIF THAT YOU FINALLY
GOT RAIN!
We heard on the radio over here in the UK that you got rain at last, we've been listening to the humilaition (for us Brits) that has been the Ashes, and aparently you've had a really cold and damp Christmas - I felt so pleased, as I know from various Aussie blogs you've had a rough time of it with the fires.
Didn't help our bowlers much though. :(
Oh- I'm so glad! Hope the drought continues to receed...
